Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme
Salvis has extensive experience in supporting public sector bodies in gaining funding under the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS). The scheme provides grant funding to make buildings more energy efficient with an emphasis on decarbonising heat.
We have supported successful bids in every round of PSDS since it began, and in fact, we developed the 2nd ever application that was submitted and approved under the scheme.
Our energy audits and heat decarbonisation plans are tailored to contain all the required technical information to be used as the evidence pack to gain funding.
We have worked with a range of public sector organisations to carry out the feasibility studies which we then use to complete the PSDS application. Where funding has been awarded, we have then gone on to complete the detailed design, create the tender package, evaluate tender responses and then project manage the installation works on site.
Low Carbon Skills Fund Scheme
Central government acknowledge that decarbonising buildings is a technical process where the expertise and skills are not necessarily available in-house for public sector organisations. The Low Carbon Skills Fund (LCSF) was set up to provide grants for public sector bodies to develop heat decarbonisation plans to prepare for procurement and delivery of heat decarbonisation and energy efficiency works.
The level of consultancy support that can be funded through the LCSF depends on the stage of the public sector body. Salvis can support from project conception right through to completion, and the LCSF can be used for:
- Desktop assessment of buildings and energy analysis
- Building audit to gain the basic information about the services
- Development of a heat decarbonisation strategy
- Detailed feasibility studies to include options appraisal, cost estimate and carbon/cost savings
- Detailed design (RIBA Stage 4)
